Kayak Camping at its Finest
Seasoned kayak camper or novice we have the perfect places for you to explore. Based on the Santee Cooper Lake System, the largest and third largest lakes in South Carolina. Studded with numerous islands and expansive wildlife management areas there are plenty of wilderness for everyone while being less than an hour from Charleston. We also access parts of the Santee River which was historically the main highway thru South Carolina from 1650 to 1850 when the railroads opened up.
Spend the weekend camping and kayaking on beautiful Lake Moultrie. We’ll paddle to the campsite on a wooded island a little less than 2 ½ miles from the put in. Drop your gear and head out to explore one of Lake Moultrie’s largest wildlife management areas. Join in a naturalist guided freshwater marsh/swamp paddle and watch for white-tailed deer and bald eagles as you explore those cypress bays, tupelo swamps or paddle to other islands. Tours vary with season and opportunities. You could just relax at camp, catch a few bass and just hang out if you prefer. Your guide will teach you how to select a campsite, make a campfire and many other outdoor skills. Your guide will also cover kayaking and navigation skills during tours. Each evening enjoy breathtaking sunsets, star gazing and campfire fun. Camping packages with and without kayaks and camping equipment available. See packages/costs below photos. Reservations required – call 843-697-2812. We will email a list of recommended items you should bring after your tour is booked.

Eady Island Group Camp and single camps
Tucked away under oaks and pines surrounded by water on two sides the one pictured is our most popular site and one of the easiest to get to. This main site contains room for 6 to 8 tents or up to 10 hammocks. The entire site is shaded and maybe an acre in size. Eady Island has five camp sites dispersed a good distance from each other. Each site has access to a beach with this site having the most beach and swimming area of all of them. The first camp on Eady is tucked back in cove with an expansive area for swimming and wading. Another camp site is tucked behind the island on the end and is under a shady pine forest. Both of these camps are perfect for couples who just want to get away from it all for a few days. As always we advocate Pack It In, Pack It Out and have firewood for sale if needed.
