Who We Are?

Our Mission

Our primary mission is to provide a safe and memorable kayaking experience that showcases nature’s beauty and character. Your safety is our number one priority. We limit the size of our tours to ensure you receive individualized attention, can ask questions, socialize and enjoy the natural surroundings. We use high quality, clean, well maintained and safe equipment

Deb will help you find the activity that best fits your needs. We engage with you to discover what most interests you and thrills you, listen to concerns you may have, learn about any special needs and suggest activities based on that information. Our communication with you is ongoing – before the booking, during the activity and afterward – to be sure we’ve given you the best outdoor experience. Our commitment to your safety and the highest quality of service is what sets Blueway Adventures apart from others.

Deb Practicing To Be a Fishing Guide

I’m Ed Deal, owner and operator of Blueway Adventures, LLC. I am/was an American Canoe Association (ACA) Certified Level 2 Coastal Kayak Instructor from 2010 thru 2023. I also had an  Adaptive Paddling Endorsement and have a ACA Trip Leader Certification. I also hold a Wilderness First Aid Certification and Coastal Master Naturalist Certification. I am active in the paddlesport community. I have served on the board, was an officer and  a member of the South Carolina Paddlesport Industry Association for many years.  I am a member of the South Carolina-Nature Based Tourism Association, the American Canoe Association Safty Education and Instruction Concil, and Carolina Gypsy Paddlers. Deb and I also own and organize the Tri-County Blueway Kayaking Meetup Group.

Deb and I are true believers in the benefits of getting children outdoors and acquainting them with the natural environment around them. I served 11 years as a  board member, officer and supporter of Wildlife Action, Inc., a national organization that has been dedicated to education, sportsmanship and conservation for over 38 years. They are a non-profit grass-roots organization whose mission is to promote public awareness about wildlife habitat, conservation and preservation of our natural resources, educating all people on stewardship of the good earth, promoting responsible sportsmanship and providing outdoor educational and recreational activities for children and families.

Deb and I also volunteer and support Berkeley County Blueways and we are founding Board members of and still support Keep Berkeley Beautiful an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful. We can also be found organizing clean-ups and promoting paddling throughout South Carolina.
